About The Denmark national football team

The Denmark national football team, founded by the Danish Football Association, is a national football team that rose rapidly in the 1980s. At the 1908 Olympics, Denmark defeated France 17-1, setting the largest scoreline in Olympic history. Denmark’s first major tournament title came at the 1992 UEFA European Championship in Sweden. At the time, due to the Yugoslav Wars in Yugoslavia, Denmark replaced Yugoslavia to participate in the tournament in Sweden. In the final, Denmark defeated Germany 2-0 to win the only European Championship title in Danish history.

Team Achievement

In terms of the FIFA World Cup, Denmark has qualified for the World Cup finals only five times, namely in the 1986, 1998, 2002, 2010, and 2018 World Cups. At the 1998 France World Cup, Denmark lost 2-3 to Brazil and was eliminated in the quarter-finals. In the round of 16 at the 2002 World Cup, they faced their rival England and were eliminated 0-3.

Current Situation

On October 12, 2021, Denmark became the second European team to qualify for the World Cup through the qualifiers. At the 2022 Qatar World Cup, Denmark was drawn into Group D. At the 2024 European Championship, Denmark lost to Germany in the round of 16 and was eliminated at the 16th stage.
