According to reports from camel.live, Al-Ittihad is looking to appoint Jürgen Klopp as their new manager, viewing him as the top target to fill the vacancy left by the sacked Laurent Blanc.
The report states that Klopp currently serves as Red Bull’s Global Football Director, whose main responsibility is to oversee a number of clubs including RB Leipzig, New York Red Bulls, and Red Bull Salzburg.
“My goal is to develop football: for our clubs, players, and talent development, while also contributing to the development of football itself,” he said upon taking up the role.
As backup options, the other two candidates being considered by Al-Ittihad are Xavi Hernández and Unai Emery. Additionally, Luciano Spalletti and Sérgio Conceição are also on the shortlist but are considered less likely.
Al-Ittihad’s plan is to resolve this managerial issue as soon as possible to ensure sporting stability ahead of the restart of domestic competitions in October.
