Bayern Munich full-back Konrad Laimer stated in an interview that he considers the full-back position one of the most important in the team.
Laimer said: “The full-back position requires many skills, and for me, it’s also one of the team’s most important. You need to have a significant impact on the game, balance attack and defense, and be everywhere down the flanks. This makes the role very complex. Few young players actively choose to be full-backs. That was the case for me too – I only became a full-back by chance. But I can imagine that this position will receive more attention in the future.”
“I want to make opponents as uncomfortable as possible on the pitch and love playing with full commitment. One-on-one duels and high-intensity battles have always been an important part of my game. If we end up winning, I’m willing to be a tough guy.”
