In the concluded Premier League Matchweek 15, Liverpool was held to a 3-3 draw by Leeds United. Salah was left out of the starting lineup for the third consecutive game and failed to get any playing time.
Saudi Arabian clubs are interested in signing Mohamed Salah, but before taking action on the Liverpool forward, they need to definitely know that Salah is willing to play in Saudi Arabia.
As things stand, Liverpool has not received any approach for the player. Several clubs, including Al Ittihad and Al Hilal, have attempted to sign Salah in the past two years, but he has never shown a strong willingness to leave top European club competitions for the Saudi Pro League.
Clubs in the Saudi Pro League have changed their strategy and now prefer to sign young players rather than star players approaching the end of their careers, though they are always willing to make an exception for Salah.
In September 2023, Al Ittihad made a verbal offer of £150 million to sign Salah, but this move was made close to the closing of the transfer window, making the possibility of completing the deal extremely slim.
Before Salah signed a new contract with Liverpool in April, there was indeed a possibility of him transferring to the Saudi Pro League, but there were also rumors at the time that he had held talks with other Premier League and European rival clubs about a free transfer.
Salah is still possible and willing to play for other Premier League clubs, which may indicate that he still believes he can make achievements in European competitions and may feel that now is not the right time to move to the Saudi Pro League.
Salah will leave the team next week to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations and is expected to return only in January next year. By then, the winter transfer window will open, and Saudi and
MLS teams are interested in signing him, including Al Hilal, Al Qadsiah, New Future City Sports, San Diego, and Chicago Fire. Liverpool currently has no plans to sell Salah but is also prepared to accept offers.
